THE HEALING POWERS OF NATURE
The paintings, the rattles and the spirit dolls on this website are Beings/Energies that present themselves to me, asking to be painted, to be created, to be seen. They are Guides, Helping Spirits, Nature Beings, Plant Spirits, connected both to me as the midwife of creation and to that other person, who feels called to offer that work of art a permanent home. Each work of art has a story, often a multi-faceted story- a part that is told to me and a part that will only be told to their new caretaker once the art has arrived safely to her new home. O R I S H A S
This is a series of nature divinities, that in the Brazilian African Candomblé tradition, they are called Orishas. They are painted on large canvases, meant to look like Tarot Cards. Each divinity represents an aspect in nature, and their individual stories can be found on the connected page, "Painted Stories"
From top left to right, first row: Yemaya(ocean), The Magician (O Babalawo), Oshun (rivers),
Second row: Ossain (medicinal plants), Olorun (the all-knowing Life Force), Oxossi (forest)
Third row: Oxumarê, (rainbow-serpent Orisha).

Se trata de una serie de divinidades de la naturaleza, que en la tradición del Candomblé africano brasileño se denominan Orishas. Están pintados sobre grandes lienzos, destinados a parecerse a las cartas del Tarot. Cada divinidad representa un aspecto de la naturaleza y sus historias individuales se pueden encontrar en la página conectada, ""Historias pintadas"

PLANT MEDICINE SPIRIT DOLLS
MUÑECAS SANADORAS
I have always dreamed of working with wool, of spinning & weaving, but with arts that let my imagination fly free, without borders. My first teachers were my Spirit Guides, and through them 2 Spirit Dolls were created and birthed. Both are Rue medicine dolls, one from felt and the other from clay. And then I waited and then the right teacher at the right time. I was guided to Julia from Sacred Familiar.
I am offering to birth a creation, specially for you- a Spirit Doll, a dream egg, an amulet, woven from wool, that contains a medicine bundle- plants and crystals, resins and blessings, and the breath of life. Reach out if you feel called to one of the dolls on this page or to have a creation birthed especially for you.
Siempre he soñado con trabajar con lana, hilar y tejer, pero con artes que dejen volar mi imaginación libre, sin fronteras.
